Really Neat

A Huge Hit! Awesome Gift!

My boys enjoyed making their own music with the music box. They have already asked for more music strips for composing. It was fun for them to place the music box on different surfaces to check for sound quality. This is definitely a great gift for those who love music.

Awesome gift but a struggle to recieve

I ordered December 8th and it was put in back order twice and I didn't receive it until February 1st. I finally gave it to the person it was meant for and he used it for the first time and the hole punch broke. It's an awesome gift but the fact it took so long to arrive and then broke on the first use is highly disappointing.

Where can the refill package be purchased?

Thank you for your question. This set comes with three blank paper strips, a hole puncher, an instruction manual, and a pre-punched "Happy Birthday" song strip. Additional refills can be purchased directly from the brand's website, Kikkerland.

One reviewer mentioned that the music box cannot play two of the same note in a row. I listened to the sample "Happy Birthday" video and I couldn't hear two distinct sounds for the syllables "hap-py" in song, which should be sung with the same note consecutively. Is it true that this music box can't play two of the same note in a row?

The way the music is written there are notes that happen sequentially but as part of different cords. The same notes appear side by side in 2 instances in the written music however they are part of different cords and present different sounds.

The refills are blank. You compose your own music, or punch them to play a song you already know. Full instructions are included with the music box.

If we use our own paper, what kind of paper is to be used, is it ordinary paper or some special quality paper?

You can definitely use your own paper to create even more beautiful music with this Mechanical Music Box Set! Standard paper will work, but you'll need to cut it down so it fits in the machine. The set does include one blank strip, though, so you could easily use that for a template.
