Perfect Mother's Day Gift

Perfect way to connect with my mom in another city and learn her life stories. It's a great keepsake box for years to come! And I can pass it on to my kids who want to get to know their grandmother.

I am so impressed with this set

In a time of fleeting texts and emails, this kit was perfect for my daughter and me. The first card exchange was far more moving and poignant than I expected. Truly a lovely, unique gift that will last forever. Now I'm wanting to buy a second one for my younger daughter and it's not available; I'm truly hoping it becomes available again.

Something different, but I wouldn't buy it again

I bought this as a Mother's Day gift. The prompts were quite basic, and there aren't clear instructions on who should be doing what to maximize the use of the product. Overall I didn't find the product to be as valuable as I had hoped. #sweepstakes

Perfect gift for all mothers!

Bought this for my best friend's first Mother's Day gift. She cried opening it and flipping through the pages.

Fantastic and Unique

This is a fantastic way to keep memories and little momentos together to look at later. It's perfect for my mom and I, as she lives a fair amount away. It's the most amazing way to reminisce and rejuvenate our relationship! Couldn't be happier with it!

Highly recommend for mothers/daughters

I love this keepsake book. Sometimes, I forget my story that should be shared with my daughter. This book helps us treasure each other and our memories.

Gift for Sister and Niece

Gave this as a gift for Christmas to my sister and niece! They are so excited to get started on it! My niece is 7 so I feel like it's the perfect age to start writing letters. The victorian/ vintage style is awesome! I can't wait to peak through their letters!

I would recommend to a friendđź’—

To leave a legacy for future generations.

I got emotional just opening and looking through this

I just received this today, so I can't comment fully but I can hardly wait to get started! It will be to share memories, thoughts, secrets, wishes and a special correspondence with my daughter. She lives in another state with 6 of my Grandchildren. This will be such an incredible gift for/to all of us! I wanted to do something like this with my Mother but she wasn't quite up to the task of remembering much, by the time I thought of it. This is priceless.

Hard to find and great book

I do not use it. I purchased it for my niece as she is a new mom. I also bought two for letters from grandmother to grandchild. These are great items to have and first time I have either seen them. Absolutely great as they are personalized by the person writing the notes.

The cards are not in duplicate so I'm not sure how to send one to my daughter as the instructions say to. I really want to do this. It was a gift from her. But I'm very disappointed that the very first page says to find the cards, fill one out, send them both to my daughter so she can fill one out and then return to me. How can I do this with only one copy of each card?

Verified reply from Jen

The cards are meant to be shared. So, you might write your answer first and mail the card to your daughter for her input, or send it to her and then add your comments once it's returned back to you. Its better to do with one copy of the card because that's what its meant to be. All of the cards/letters should make their way back to the book so everything can be kept together in one spot.

Is this book something for a daughter to give to her mother as a gift or vice verse? Thanks!

Verified reply from Megan

Hello, this gift is meant to be passed back and forth between mother and daughter, so either one can give it as a gift!

My mother and I raised my daughter together (ages 76, 55 and 22). I would like to share this book amongst the three of us, each of us contributing. Does anyone see a way to do that? Or is there a better idea? Any advice is appreciated.

Verified reply from Allison

To include three generations, three books may be the best way to combine your life experiences! There are 40 cards in each set so perhaps you could mix and match questions for each books.

I love the concept of this. You have some examples of what is asked like pet peeves and if you were a superhero for a day. Is there anything directly related to birthing or things specific to just a birth mom/daughter? I'm trying to determine if this is something that I can exchange back & forth with my stepdaughter?

Verified reply from Colleen

There is a section specific towards the birth of the child, asking questions in regards to the pregnancy, name selection, labor, etc.

I have the book and just started using it with my college age daughter who is in another state. I am a little confused, though. Is there suppose to be two sets of identical cards? It state the mother should fill out a card and send the completed card and the matching card for the daughter to fill out to the daughter - who then returns both completed cards to the mother to keep in the scrap book. Makes sense. Unfortunately, only some of the cards have duplicates. Others have cards that are more appropriate for best friends or something. I've sent an e-mail to the manufacturer but have not received a response. I suspect my book does not have all the correct cards. Thank you.

Verified reply from Valerie

It sounds like you have the correct cards. Only a few of the cards are duplicates. The others are meant to be shared. So, you might write your answer first and mail the card to your daughter for her input, or send it to her and then add your comments once it's returned back to you. There are a few cards specifically referring to friendship so that you and your daughter can write about other meaningful friendships in your lives, not your friendship with her.

Could you give me examples of the questions that are sent to the daughter to fill out?

Verified reply from Nicola

Some example questions featured on the 40+ cards of the Mother & Daughter Letter Book Set are: What is… your hobbies; your passions; your pet peeves? What do you find attractive about other people? What's the most embarrassing thing that every happened to you? -- This is just a small sampling. Hope this helps!

Your answers to other questions say it's designed for the mother to keep. I was going to give it to my daughter who lives an ocean away. Is there a particular reason the mother should have the book instead of the daughter?

Verified reply from Michelle

Great question! Here's how it works: mom acts as the "keeper of the book" and fills in some pages herself. She then uses the cards provided to spark additional commentary from her daughter. Think of it as a scrapbook with two authors.

Can this book be personalized with recipients name

Verified reply from Alexis R

Unfortunately this book can not be personalized.

When your mother sends you one of the cards, do you respond on the same card and mail it back toypur mother?

Verified reply from Valerie

Yes, ultimately all of the cards/letters should make their way back to the book so everything can be kept together in one spot.

Do I need to buy a book for myself and my mom or is it just one book and we send cards back and forth from that one book? I live in a different state as my mom so not sure if it works with one book?

Verified reply from Valerie

The way it works: mom acts as the "keeper of the book" and fills in some pages herself, and then sends the cards (provided) to spark additional commentary from her daughter which can then be added to the book in a scrapbook style. This can for sure be accomplished in different locations.
