Daughter loves this gift!

Very unique product!! Daughter loves this gift!

Great purchase! Love it!

She loves it and uses it constantly. It is a fun addition to her workspace and adds to the visual aesthetic or her desk much better than a typical iPhone charger, etc.

Replace

Great if you've replaced home phone with cell phone. Easy for little ones to talk on the cell phone.

FUN FUN FUN!!

I love it. However, I have an iPhone 5 (the jack hole is located on the bottom of the phone) and since the 3.5mm jack is located on the top of the device, I have to situate my phone upside down. :( Is there a fix for this? Otherwise really cool.

This was a HUGE HIT

Worth the low cost and easy to use. For all ages and puts an end to your ear burning while talking on the cell.. this gets rid of the RED EAR.. Even just using the headset was comfortable and so much nicer than the cell phone to you ear. Everyone who saw it wanted it at our Whilte Elephant Exchange.

Terrible reception. So sad.

I loved the idea of this, but I couldn't hear through the receiver without terrible static and feedback. I am so sad, because I wanted to use this on my desk in my home office, but the sound is too poor.

Talk Dock

Item was described accurately. Love the unique items.

Will this work for an iphone 6? Same charger doc as a 5...

Verified reply from Ali

Since you use your own charger, you don't have to worry about compatibility. Any phone that fits in the recessed area can be used with this dock. The dock itself doesn't actually contain a connector, but it does feature an area where the connector rests. In that sense, it's more of a phone "rest" than a phone "dock," but "talk rest" just doesn't sound as good! Holding the phone isn't it's only function, though. You can actually connect the receiver though your phone's standard headphone jack, so it provides comfort while looking cool as you chat.

What are the dimensions of the space that holds the actual smart phone? It would be great if my phone+cover would fit! (I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 with a protective cover).

Verified reply from Marisa

Thanks for your question. The cradle of our Talk Dock is 3" wide and 5.25" tall. The depth varies, but is just under .5" at the deepest.

Will this work for the Galaxy S4 or S5?

Verified reply from Marisa

Yes, our Talk Dock is compatible with all smart phones, as itconnects through headphone jack, not the charger port. Thanks for shopping with UncommonGoods!

Hi Would I be able to use the iPhone 5c as an alarm clock and use the phone handset while plugged into this phone dock? Thanks

Verified reply from Marisa

Yes, all of your phone's functions, including the alarm, work normally while it's in the dock. The phone handset not only works while it's connected to the dock, you can detach it and use it with your phone or tablet without being connected to the dock.

If I'm understanding correctly, a cell phone connects via audio jack to use the hand set. If that's the case, the iPhone 5 doesn't look like it could be used in that manner while sitting on the base because the audio jack is now on the bottom of the iPhone and there appears to be something for the cell phone to rest on the base right in that area. Is it only meant to charge a phone while it's sitting on the base?

You can connect the receiver directly to your phone, so it's still portable when you don't want to be tied to the Talk Dock. But, if you want to leave your phone charging and use it at the same time, you can actually connect the receiver to the dock (as you can see in the photo), and then connect the phone to the dock via a cable that's actually hidden most of the time. The audio connector fits snuggly in the back of the dock, to keep it out of the way, but inconspicuously reaches over the top of the dock to plug into an iPhone 4 or 4s or around the side on the bottom to connect with an iPhone 5.

I don't see how the Talk Dock connects to the iPhone. I see the white USB cable coming from the computer, good ... but nothing that links the phone to the handset. Am I missing something? Is it Bluetooth?

Verified reply from Cassie, Community Moderator

The Talk Dock actually has a "secret" cable hidden in the back, which connects to your audio jack, so the receiver is usable while the phone is resting on the dock when charging. No Bluetooth required!

I miss the old phone receiver so much! Don't enjoy chatting on a cell phone as much as I enjoyed chatting with the receiver nested between my ear and shoulder. Is it possible to swap out a longer cord between the base and the receiver?

Verified reply from Cassie, Community Moderator

While the cord can be removed, it would be very tricky to swap it out for a longer cord, because it doesn't actually use the same type of cord that comes with "old fashion" phones. Instead, it uses the same plug that your headphones do. The Talk Dock does feature a small attachment that allows you to connect your phone to the receiver while docked, but you can connect the receiver directly to your phone as well. So, while you can't venture too far from the dock while your phone is plugged in, you could hook the receiver directly into your phone's headset jack and take it on the go if you'd like.

Where is the red talk dock?

Verified reply from Cassie, Community Moderator

This item is only available in black and green at the moment, but we'll gladly pass your suggestion to carry more colors along to our merchandising team. Thanks for your question!

Although it says its compatible with the iphone 5, does it bring the new connector, different from the iphone4/4s? Thnks
