Asheville, NC native Kent Harris's interest in pottery was sparked early on by his mother’s collection of handmade stoneware. He studied ceramics in college, and then he and his wife Megan opened a studio in Canyon, TX. Now based in Amarillo, Kent works with local wood ashes and clays because, as he says, "Pots made with local materials can achieve a beauty found most often in nature. The more pots I make, my commitment to local materials grows."
