He met his fiancéee, Melodie, at an engineering school in Paris and, after a trip around the world for several months together, they were separated for more than a year when Jean went to study at MIT. Before flying to Boston, he created the first Lovebox for Melodie. He wanted to leave her with an object that let her receive his transatlantic messages of love as if they were gifts.
