Growing up in Rhode Island, Fred Magnanimi spent his summers learning the craft of designing and manufacturing inspirational jewelry from his dad at the family jewelry company, founded in 1954. Fred graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics, then returned to the family firm. "We are old school in our production process," Fred says. "We design all of our products," he explains, "then work with model makers, who craft our designs by hand." This, he says, creates a level of "detail that's often lost with CAD and computer based design." Finally, all of the pieces are assembled by hand by jewelry artisans in the same Rhode Island factory the company has run since its founding.
