A curious little critter—handcrafted of repurposed metal, gears, bits, and baubles—has recently emerged. Its main goal? To spread love anywhere you place it. Artist Richard Kolb makes each adorable love bug himself before sending it off to its new home.

A lifelong resident of Kentucky, Richard Kolb is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky and an accomplished metal sculptor. He uses mostly scrap and recycled parts to create metal birds, critters, dogs and cats. Some of the materials he uses include garden tools, car parts, farm implements, bicycle parts and mufflers.

"I think these sculptures are a great way to contribute to the good of the environment," Richard says. "They save rejected metal parts from ending up in a landfill and they beautify homes and yards everywhere!"

"I believe the things that make us happiest in life are not always the necessities, but usually the things that we do not need."
