Stuffed with savory fillings, mandu dumplings are an irresistible Korean dish—and because they symbolize good luck, the tasty little pockets are a particular favorite at special occasions and Lunar New Year celebrations. Now you’ll have the good luck to learn how to make your own mouthwatering mandu at home by taking this live online class with Chef Michelle Chiu. Learn Chef Michelle’s family recipe for Vegetarian Korean Mandu in this fully interactive class where you'll benefit from her expertise and passion for Asian comfort food. 새해 복 많이 받으세요 (sae hae bok manhi bah doo seh yo): May your new year be full of many blessings!

  • Get step-by-step guidance on marinating, chopping, folding (one of the trickiest and most important steps!), and cooking authentic mandu filled with a savory mix of tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and fresh vegetables.
  • You’ll be pan-frying the dumplings in class, but Michelle will share pro tips for boiling and steaming dumplings to cater to various tastes and occasions.
  • Discover how to make a delicious dipping sauce that complements the dumplings perfectly and may just become the next must-have condiment in your kitchen.
  • Dive into the cultural significance of this delicious dish while enjoying tips and anecdotes from Michelle’s Korean upbringing and culinary adventures as a professional chef.
Class length: 90 minutes.
We suggest: Gift this class along with our Ooma Bowl. With an ergonomic, easy-to-hold shape and dual chambers that keep food separate, it's ideal for enjoying your mandu and dipping sauce together—especially if you like to snack on the couch.
