Rooted in Love

Love is always in bloom on this beautifully handmade dish. A charming heirloom gift for celebrating anniversaries or newlyweds, each hand-thrown brown stoneware piece is layered with a white slip, a Korean technique called Buncheong developed during the mid-twelfth century. The artist then adds an intricate floral pattern to the inside of the dish and personalized details to the outside rim by expertly hand-carving each detail. Handmade by Seowoon Oh in New Jersey.

Seowoon Oh is a ceramic artist whose work reflects the quiet wonder of nature. Inspired by birds in flight, petals, fish scales, and leaves, her functional pieces bring natural rhythms into daily life. Using earthy clays and glazes that echo mossy greens, ocean blues, and raw earth tones, her work invites mindfulness and connection. Originally from Seoul, Korea, with BA and MA degrees in Ceramic Art from Hongik University, she now creates in her home studio in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
