What Makes It Uncommon

Developed in China in the 19th century, mahjong is a tile-based game that’s won by being the first to have a specific combination of tiles in your hand. This beautifully illustrated introductory set swaps the Chinese characters of the classic tiles for an array of Asian animals from the land, sea, and air. Puzzle-loving kids will be declaring “mahjong” before their adults can pong, chow, or kong.
