There was never a moment that Emilie Shapiro didn't consider herself an artist. "Before I could speak," she says, "I expressed myself through what I made with my hands." While getting her degree in metalsmithing at Syracuse University, she spent a summer at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School in Florence, Italy. "I have a massive stone collection that I started when I was two," and to spark inspiration, she says, "I usually pull out my drawers of gems and minerals and something catches my eye."

She loves it!
I gifted this to my adult daughter because we spent many hours together when she was young reading the book Guess How Much I Love You. That it's made with a moonstone for protection and guidance is an extra bonus in my eyes. I haven't had a chance to see it in person yet, but she says it is gorgeous and of good quality. A perfect gift and she was thrilled to receive it!
