Was hopeful at first
I loved this, as I received as a gift for my birthday from a coworker, and the seeds are NOT growing and it seems to have got white mold or mildew on top of the soil.
Response from merchant
Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear that this did not grow. Variations in growing conditions and climate can impact the outcome, but many of our customers have been successful with these. We're reaching out directly to offer support.

Fun & Engaging
It was a perfect little gift for the occasion. Recipient commented that seeing it grow each day in kitchen window was a nice reminder of their passed loved one.

She loved it!
My friend opened this as we FaceTimed several states apart. I'm not sure if it will grow anything, but she loved the simplicity of it, the blue glass and that I had picked the chamomile option. She can grow some spring flowers in her north east kitchen window.

Re:Mason Jar Indoor Flower Garden ENGLISH DAISY When will this option be available?
Verified reply from Itamar
Great question! At this time, we do not plan expanding the mason jar selection but this may change in the future!

Is it possible to purchase just the growth medium. Actually the coco pith disc. I would like to reuse the jar year after year.
Verified reply from Jeff
The stainless steel net pot and recycled glass grow medium can both be reused—simply rinse with hot water. Add new seeds and use soil or coco pith to help seeds germinate. Use a water soluble fertilizer and follow its instructions. Unfortunately these things would have to be purchased outside, we do not sell them though any Lowes or Home Depot should.

Can I purchase these jars now and not use them until later when conditions are more ideal? THANK YOU Mary
Verified reply from Alice
You sure can! These seeds have a shelf life of 9 months, however they are designed for year-round indoor use, so no need to wait!

I was going to put the mason jars in my kitchen however my kitchen is approximately 25 feet away from my front window, will this prohibit the plants from growing? Thanks.
Verified reply from Alexis R
Like all plants the pansies, zinnias and English daisies need sunlight to grow. If your window is 25 feet away it will not benefit the growth of the plant. You may have to reconsider the plant location in your home.

How long can the plant live?
Verified reply from SiRandal
Great question! Zinnias are an annual, meaning they will live a year at most. Pansies are generally biannual, meaning their life cycle is 2 years at most. English daisies are perennials. However, because of the limited root space and nutrient capacity I would suggest that the plants usually last between 6-12 months on average if well-tended. I hope this info helps you. Thanks for shopping with us, and Happy Holidays!

How many jars are included in one order?
Verified reply from SiRandal
Greetings! Thanks for your question. The Mason Jar Indoor Flower Garden includes only (1) mason jar per purchase. I hope this info helps you. Happy Holidays!

I live in south Florida. Which would be better to grown these pansies on screened in porch or in air conditioned house. I'm thinking of heat and humidity in summer months?
Verified reply from Valerie
Pansies prefer cooler temperatures but need a lot of sunlight. Keeping them in a sunny spot indoors should work well.

Do the hanging bales for the mason jars included? If not, are they available?
Verified reply from Valerie
The Mason Jar Indoor Flower Garden does not come with hangers, however mason jar hangers are inexpensive and widely available (or you can try making your own!). Options and tutorials can be found by searching online.

Is it possible to use other seeds and grow other flowers with this kit?
Verified reply from Marisa
Yes! The stainless steel net pot and recycled glass grow medium can both be reused—simply rinse with hot water. Add new seeds and use soil or coco pith to help seeds germinate. Use a water soluble fertilizer and follow its instructions.

Does the product come as the mason jar with the seeds planted? And then you just add water? Or is it the mason jar and seeds separate, and then you assemble it yourself? Thank you
Verified reply from Nichole
The seeds are not planted yet when the mason jar arrives in its package. Part of the fun is assembling it yourself! Instructions on how to assemble the mason jar and get your garden started can be found here: http://data.uncommongoods.com.edgesuite.net/images/newweb/pdfs/42998-01.pdf.
