Probably Great if You Don't Wear Glasses

I really wanted this to work. My husband gave it to me for Christmas. I read the instruction booklet and the concept made a lot of sense. I'm a psychologist, so I knew the idea was solid. When I tried to use it, I couldn't figure out why there was no circle of light, just some undefined brightness and dimming - I couldn't tell for sure when it was starting to change. Didn't make sense to me. Then one day when I was making the bed (and wearing my contacts), I accidentally started it up and it all came together. It worked! Also, my apartment has really high ceilings and that makes it even worse. So, it would work if I wore my contacts to bed, built a special shelf to put it up about 4 or 5 feet higher than my nightstand, and did the breathing exercises, maybe it would work for me. Very disappointed. I guess I could try to use it for a hockey puck. Or roll it across the floor and see if my dog will fetch it.

Really works IF you are committed

I bought this for my husband, who has been struggling with insomnia for several months. I was hoping it would help him get back to sleep after waking up at 3 am. It hasn't worked for him yet, but it has helped ME fall back to sleep several times. You have to be open to trying a new approach to falling asleep to have success. It's not a sleeping pill — you have to read the instructions, do the breathing exercises, and really give it the old college try to have success. But if you do the work, it works!

Wonderful

Perfect match

Easy to use, it helps me a lot to sleep faster !

Not sure it helps

The light beams straight up, so you have to place it where nothing might block it, like a glass of water on the night stand next to it. I ended up having to put it not next to the bed, but that means I have to look to the side to watch the pulsing light. It's more difficult than I thought it would be to breathe to the pulse too, so I'm just not sure it helps. Seems expensive for what it ended up being.

Great concept that works if you stick with it!

Got this for my teenager who has trouble falling asleep. I use the breathing app Essence for stress/anxiety, and this is basically the same visual aide without screens - which we try to avoid at bedtime. The main hurdle has been getting her to use it regularly and stick with it. In this age of instant gratification, she can be quite dismissive if something doesn't work right away. And she's not a fan of yoga/breathing for calming the mind and body, like me, so she has a hard time quieting her mind and letting this little machine guide her. We also had a tricky time positioning it for optimal display without a nightstand and her slanted ceiling. You need to be able to see it clearly from a prone position without having to strain or look too far away. The best thing is, it's an awesome product and it won't go to waste, because I'll use it if she doesn't. Ah, teenagers.

Amazing sleep aid

I bought this for my husband who struggles to fall asleep at night and after two weeks of use I can claim it really works. Not only does the beam radiate softly in and out, but it comes with breathing exercises that are timed to them. It's a simple yet effective design. I highly recommend this for anyone struggling with sleep.

This helped both of us go to sleep so quickly!

It is easy to use. Simple instructions and really does help you go to sleep!

I would buy this again

I bought this as a gift for my son. He has always had a hard time unwinding and falling asleep. The Moon Beam helps him to focus and slow down his breathing and quiet his mind.

Reduces my son's anxiety and helps him fall asleep

Grateful for a simple, effective, drug-free solution.

What color is the light? I am concerned about blue light before sleep.

Verified reply from Angelica

The light is blue, however it is not the same blue light that is on screens.

How long does the light project before it shuts itself off?

Verified reply from Darren

The Moon Beam Sleep Aid can be set to pulsate light in timed cycles that range anywhere from 20 minutes to 8 minutes depending on how long you need assistance in falling asleep.

does this device require power outlet?

Verified reply from Allison

3 AAA batteries are needed for this item.

Would this be beneficial and work on infants?

Verified reply from Melody

This sleep aid works with children, however the youngest child the maker tried it on was a six-year-old! It is drug-free and creates a hypnotic effect with the light projections on the ceiling so it's not invasive.

Would this work for children between ages 8-12?

Verified reply from Leighton

So long as the child is able to understand the instructions for how to use the sleep aid, we'd say it wouldn't hurt to try! Some children might find it fun, like a game, while others might get bored of the device quickly. If nothing else, it makes a soothing night light!

Does it work with 12' ceilings?

Verified reply from Valerie

Yes, this should work fine with 12' ceilings!

Can the unit be tipped to project on a wall for side sleepers?

Verified reply from Brandon

Sorry, there is no official stand behind the item. Of course you can prop it up next to an alarm clock or something else if needed, but there is no official stand.
