Wonderful product, damaged gift box

The gift recipient will love this gift. Interesting and well made, I especially like the fabric cover. However, I was so bummed when I opened up the package because the gift box was damaged in a way that I couldn't fix it. The damage came from being shipped in a simple padded envelope. If it had been shipped in a box I'm sure it would've been fine.

Is there a protective casing inside the tweed case? I'd love to get this as a gift for my father in law but I'm afraid it would break in his jacket.
