Working and teaching out of a studio space in Queens, New York, self-taught candlemaker Vicky Wu is in constant pursuit of her passion. The Taiwan native started making candles in a small space in her New York City apartment, but as her unique, handmade wax pieces grew more popular, she decided to expand. "I love seeing how happy my customers are when they see the candles," Vicky says. "The candle itself can bring a kind of healing energy."

Before burning, always trim the wick to 1/8" (3mm) inch. • Never leave a candle unattended. •Keep away from drafts, pets and children. •Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface • Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquefied. • Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep. • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle. • Do not use water to extinguish a candle.
