Ashley's intricate, petite paper art is the product of the same painstaking handwork process, made contemporary through color and cleverly quilled flourishes.

Paper quilling is having a renaissance, with new artists taking the craft in many new directions. Ashley Chiang stumbled across the art form in 2012 while making a birthday gift for her sister. Falling in love with the process (and the outcome), she soon started making more gifts for friends and eventually put some work samples online. Today, working from her studio in Silver Spring, Maryland, Ashley shapes, curls, and coils every single work of art by hand from thin strips of paper.
