Patricia Carlin believes that a small sketch has the power to tell a story without language. She started out as an art director in Philadelphia, selling everything from potato chips to financial products. In 2001, a friend wanted help launching a glassware business, so Patricia designed and wrote copy for several products for the new venture. Patricia has explored many techniques in her illustration, but simple line drawing appeals to her most. "For me, paring things down to their simplest essence is always the best way to understand them," she says.

Absolutely Amazing!
I ordered this for my in laws as a Christmas gift since we all go camping together. It turned out even better than I could have imagined! They loved it and I loved it and now I want to order one for myself! I got the proof quickly and it was super easy to approve it and the actual print was exactly what the proof showed. It's a great size and the quality is great. If you are on the fence about getting this you need to just do it.

A truly unique and special gift
The item not only is high-quality, but the artist and staff at uncommon goods was so willing to work with me, so it looked like our family. My husband's favorite thing is to sit in front of a fire pit. To have a picture of our whole family, including the dogs, was so special. He's hard when it comes to buying a gift, but he absolutely loved this.

Hello! We're sorry, the Family Fire Pit Art is limited to 10 human figures and 2 pets. The artist cannot accommodate any special customization.

Hi! Two questions: I guess the body options are set in stone, right? I need bodies for four men and four women, but there are only three slender options, and 3-4 older people with wider bodies. Since the colors of the shirts and pants are set in stone, I would have to make someone overly wide, or two people would be outfit twins. Any ideas? 2) If I order 8 people, will there be 2 empty chairs? I really need 8 chairs for 8 people, with no extras. Thanks for your help!

Hi! Thanks for reaching out. -1) Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate special requests. The only available options are on the template linked here, and they cannot be changed: https://www.uncommongoods.com/pdf/52596_alt.pdf. The artist will adjust the art to fit the figures you have personalized. -2) If you order 8 people, there will not be 2 empty chairs. Only the 8 figures you select will be shown, I hope this helps!

Does the text on this print have to read "The ____ Family" or can it say anything within the 30-character limit? I'd like to put an event name on there instead.

I am trying to order this, but it keeps telling me I have fields to customize. I have customized five of the characters and one pet, and do not want to add anything else, but I've nevertheless looked at all those options and "saved" my choices. Why can't I order this?

We have four large dogs. Is it possible to add two more? Also, one of them is white and white a Grey head and Grey spots on his back, the other white one has brown markings. Two are bernese mountain dogs so they are black with brown and white markings. Please lmk if this at all possible. Thank you so much.

Yes, the artist will accommodate the art to the figures you have personalized. As figures 3-10 are optional, you would only have to personalize figures 1-5.

There are 14 of us plus a yellow lab. It will be easier if I can send a picture of all of us and then you choose based on the photo. You dont have 14 blocks available. 4 kids ages 13 - 10. 2 kids 19,16 and the rest adults 38 - 70. If I can send you a photo that will work. Thank you
