*Uncommon Knowledge: The practice of forest bathing originated in the 1980s in Japan, where it’s called Shinrin-yoku. Believed to enhance mindfulness and well-being, it involves immersing oneself in a natural forest environment and walking, meditating, or deep breathing while surrounded by plants, trees, water, and other elements of nature.

Dissatisfied with the fragrances she found in the "all natural" section of her local store, Danielle Martin turned to a favorite source of inspiration: cocktails. Ever since she was old enough to drink, she’s been intrigued by the chemistry of a good cocktail—the distinctive aromatics of each spirit and the “drinkable perfumes” they create. So, she tried her hand at a Bourbon soap and never looked back, adding sugar scrubs, lip balms, beard, and body oils to her repertoire. Today, she’s proud to lead a black-owned, woman-owned “soap distillery" on the Northwest side of Chicago.

Care

Wet the bar and your skin. Lather up, rinse clean, and repeat as needed! 2. For best results, let your bar dry completely in-between uses. 3. Use a well draining soap dish or shower shelf to prevent your soap from sitting in standing water. Standing water makes soap dissolve quicker when not in use. 4. Keep out of bright sunlight over extended periods to maintain the integrity of the bar. 5. As with all products, if irritation occurs, please discontinue use.
