Within a mini glass snow globe floats a real snowflake, harvested as it fell from the sky over Yellowknife in Canada’s Northwest Territories by artist Dalhai Vela. Through her unique process, she catalogs and preserves each delicate ice formation so it never melts or fades away.

Snowflake is preserved in a glass globe that sits atop a recycled sterling silver base.
Includes an 18 sterling silver chain and a Certificate of Authenticity with the snowflake’s details.
Handmade in Canada.

Dalhai Vela

Jewelry designer Dalhai Vela was born in Mexico and lived there for 30 years before relocating to Northern Canada, where she encountered snow for the first time. Wanting to show her family back in Mexico how beautiful snowflakes are, she put her industrial-design degree to use and developed her technique to preserve each one-of-a-kind ice structure. Every winter, she travels north to harvest snowflakes and puts together every piece of jewelry by hand.

Care

Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, and prior to bedtime. When removed at the end of the day, store it in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag. The less air and light silver is exposed to, the less tarnish will occur; allowing to maintain jewelry shiny. If tarnish does occur, use an anti tarnish pad or cloth only on the sterling silver parts. Never immerse the pendant in any liquid, including cleaning solution, or the glass enclosing the snowflake will dull and damage.
