Of all the wonderful things about succulents, the
most wonderful may be that they can grow just about anywhere—even on a wall. With that kind of adaptability, it’s easy to turn the juicy little plants into eye-catching works of art, as long as you have the right tools and technique. Join gardener and artist
Kristin Michal for this live virtual class where you’ll learn how to design, plant, and care for a living botanical masterpiece that will turn your space into a green retreat.
- Kristin will kick off the class by walking you through the plants and materials in your kit (see Comes with the class, below—you’ll have already unboxed your new green babies to give them some light and air).
- You’ll learn how to mount the redwood frame on the wall and find out why you should install the hardware before you begin planting.
- Next, it’s time to get artsy as you design your picture, fill the frame with soil, then prep and place your succulent cuttings.
- When planting is completed, Kristin will cover important information on how to care for the succulents as they establish roots over the next 6–9 weeks (the picture will be ready to hang when it’s fully rooted in about 8 weeks), and how to nurture your display for a lifetime of art appreciation.
Class length: 60 minutes.
Comes with the class: Our
Living Art Succulent DIY Kit includes everything you’ll need for this class: succulents, soil, and a 6" x 6" redwood frame. Because a light misting is the best way to water your succulent art (without soaking the wall behind it), we suggest enhancing your gift by adding our
Brass Succulent Mister to your purchase of this class.
